For one of the garments in his ‘Eight Pieces’ collection – an ode to classic couture from the fifties in eight looks – the Danish fashion designer Claes Iversen experimented with different materials on the laser cutting machine. He ultimately found synthetics to be the most suitable because the cut edges did not become brown and scorched by the laser beam. With product developer Frank de Wind, Iversen cut out thousands of flowers with a diameter of 3, 2.5 and 1.5 centimetres, which were attached to each other with a pearl in the middle.
