Visual artist Jan Koen Lomans is fascinated by transitions in nature and regularly looks for new ways to portray themes such as transience and (re)birth. Through textiles, he looks for the tactility of these transitions. In 2007, he made the series Geestland in the TextielLab. The series is inspired by the landscape of the same name in northern Europe, which was once covered in ice.
