Sofie van Leenen was selected in 2018 to develop her graduation project in TextielLab. Leenen, Design Academy graduate, developed curtains that influence the light in a space to suit changing of seasonal needs. In the winter there is a greater need for light, warmth and isolation from the outside world. During summer there’s more need to filter the amount of light, to cool off and to experience the outdoors more. The semitransparent summer curtain is woven to create a nuanced play of light, with a gradual shift from horizontal to vertical lines.
