During the production of several knitting and textile design projects, British-Dutch designer Beryl Cameron became aware of the decline of traditional techniques in textile processing. Because many processes are now digitised and textiles are used only as a canvas, we have largely forgotten how inspirational handicraft can be. To inspire herself and others, Cameron immersed herself in several traditional techniques unfamiliar to her, such as screen printing, bookbinding and embroidery. This motivated her to look around, listen to stories and visualise her thoughts in embroidery.
