With her spatial installations, Joana Schneider (1990) aims to challenge gender stereotypes. Using scale, colour and materiality, she depicts feminine power and reflects femininity as a strong quality. Her installations are often exceptionally large and create a theatrical, dramatic, sometimes uncanny atmosphere, which also shows her love of and attention to detail.
