In ‘Braided Weave’, Sophie Leenen investigated how to create three-dimensional textile forms by combining weaving and braiding techniques. The cords in this sample are twisted. Leenen also experimented with the thickness of the cord, which gets progressively thinner. She used the same green cotton yarn throughout the series, putting the emphasis on the quality and variable thickness of the cord rather than the colour.
