These samples show how different yarns (reflective, glow in the dark, fluffy and glass) were used in gimping and then band weaving. In addition, the warp is made from monofilament. The transparency and thickness of the material make the direction of the thread and weaving technique clearly visible. The samples show that by applying ‘special effect’ materials and scaling up, band weaving is not limited to making traditional bands like a crête but is also suitable for developing spatial forms.
