For her project You Don’t Know Where You Are Going, artist Mariëlle Videler explored the concept of travelling. She was especially fascinated by the contrast between travel by tourists, refugees and nomads. Inspired by old photographs of travellers using blankets as duffel bags, she created a series of woollen blankets. The design is based on a rectangular grid in which she integrated 27 tribal patterns. The blankets can be folded along the grid lines.
