The aim of this sample was to develop sturdy knitted flaps for a hat. The stiffness in the fabric was created using melting yarn (yarn made of synthetic material that melts when steamed). By knitting different amounts of melting yarn along with the normal yarn, three samples were developed with varying degrees of stiffness.
