‘Quotidian Sensibility’ by designer Elsie So was inspired by everyday tasks and objects. Simple actions like wrapping a package and stacking boxes formed the basis of an investigation into a range of knitting techniques, processes and machinery. Placing stitches on different needle beds on the knitting machine created a striking pattern that moves back and forth across the fabric. The result is a fabric that continuously adapts; wearing it also leads to the creation of new shapes and textures.
