Materials cotton merinowool

This sample combines two techniques. The first is plating, in which two yarns in different colours are knitted simultaneously. The yarns are supplied to the needles in such a way that the front yarn only appears on the front of the fabric and is invisible on the back and vice versa. The second technique is ajour. This creates the small holes in the knit through which the floats – strands of yarn that run across the back of colourwork knitting – are visible.
