Artist, designer and LGBTQ+ activist Yamuna Forzani developed colourful face masks as both a fashion statement and a friendly alternative to the often clinical or intimidating appearance of disposable masks.
Forzani's designs were translated into the programming language used by the TextielLab’s 3D knitting machine. In the lab, visitors can see the face masks coming off the machine in one piece. The masks are made locally, ready to wear and without residual waste. The production process is therefore efficient and sustainable.Â
